Computer Animation/Multimedia:

Learn the art of 3D animation for the electronic gaming industry. Develop skills in storyboarding, character development, 3D organic modeling, level design and texture mapping. Create special effects for the electronic gaming, broadcast and film industries. This program will prepare you for an entry-level position as a 3D animator, 3D modeler, 3D lighting specialist, 3D texture artist, game level designer, special effects artist, or video post-production artist. Students can earn a Bachelor of Science in Media Arts (emphasis in 3D) or a Specialized Diploma in Multimedia/Animation Design.

Media Arts/Digital Video Production:

Learn to edit footage, add transitions, sync sound, add titles and credits, and create a 2D animation effects sequence. Filming, lighting, script writing, editing, post-production and the incorporation of special effects using 2D & 3D elements are all part of this highly intensive program. This program will prepare you for an entry-level position as a video editor, motion graphic designer, digital compositor, AV producer, videographer or video post-production artist. Students can earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Media Arts or a Specialized Diploma in Digital Video Production.

Web Design:

Learn the basics of web page design using HTML and Flash scripting, web programming, page editing software and animation. Explore the various site design models used in personal and commercial web sites. Emphasis is placed on efficient and effective use of design, web resources, web marketing strategies and application of interface design fundamentals.

This program will prepare you for an entry-level position as a web graphic designer, web technician, web interface designer, web 2D/3D artist or a web programmer. Employers include advertising agencies, computer programming services, Internet design companies, television and radio stations. Students can earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Media Arts or a Specialized Diploma in Web Design.

Graphic Design:

The graphic design program encompasses cutting edge multimedia education, including web page and interactive design, interface design, digital video, motion graphics, digital video editing, 3D modeling and animation to address the industry's growing need for professionals trained in a variety of multimedia disciplines.

Platt College offers Certificate, Diploma and Associate Degree programs ranging from five to twenty months. Multimedia:

Platt College's Multimedia program builds on your current design experience by training you on the most up-to-date programs and applications-in just 5 months. You'll have a solid grasp of Web Design, Interactive Design, Digital Video/Motion Graphics, and 3D Modeling and Animation.

Visual Communications:

The Platt College Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication degree has two specializations: 3D Animation/Video and Interactive/Web. Both specializations are dynamic and will provide graduates with skills necessary to be effective in careers in these popular and ever expanding industries. The 3D Animation/Video specialization includes coursework in architectural 3D, video production, 3D character development, DVD production, advanced 3D animation, advanced motion graphics, video compositing, and digital editing. In the Interactive/Web specialization, students will experience classes focusing on web page design, Flash animation, programming for the web, DVD production, action scripting, interactive production, and server technologies.
